Before I begin my story, could you please do a favor for me? Please remind my sisters to e-mail me because I am not receiving emails from them this past 2 weeks. How are they? I'm sending this message to them as well. Thanks so much. And another thing is, let me know if it's okay to send you my long weekly long email or not. I might disturbing your inbox. I'm so sorry for that. Hehe.. Lastly, I will not be able to send emails next Monday because will be having our specialized training on that day. O'oh.
Now, my story begins. I'm thinking of a different way to tell you what and how I'm exactly doing here. I wanna share 5 miracles I saw this week:
1. Contacted 38 people in just 4 days. This is a miracle because during our first 2 weeks here, we've been just contacting 2 people a day coz we were afraid to talk to everyone and had no enough courage to knock on doors! There were even days that we contacted NO ONE! Till I learned that the mission's goal is a minimum of 10 a day. My reaction was "Whaaat? 10 is hard! That's impossible!" But after our Zone emeting last Tuesday, I got a positive attitude towards contacting. We got courage to talk to EVERYONE we see and knock on doors as many as we can. But honestly, I and Ssiter Dahl were motivated because of the challenge given by our Zone leaders that companionships will compete and the winner will get a PLANNER COVER with his/her portrait drawn by one of our Zone leaders Elder Ramos "Hamos" (he's from Brazil). This was justr a motivation though.... Our purpose is still TO GIVE EVERYONE CHANCE TO HEAR THE GOSPEL AND FIND THOSE SOULS THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR US :)
2. Met KEISHA. We saw this lady while trying to knock on doors. She was walking down the street carrying a huge plastic bag (which I didn't know what it contains) We offered her a help and she did let us to help her carry it. Of course, it was an opportunity to tell who we are and what we do. And guess what?!! We found out that she and her mother were meeting with some Elders SIX YEARS AGO. And she said that SHE DID NOT KNOW why they STOPPED. She also mentioned that her mom passed away 2 years ago. If I were you, what are you gonna tell or ask her? Well, I asked her "do you think that you can see your mom again?" She answered, "Uhmm. Not sure. Maybe." Then I told her that "We know it's possible and our message will help you know how." Our conversation with her was cut when we got on her apartment. But she asked us to wait to grab the Book of Mormon copies that she has and showed them to us. While talking with her outside her apartment, she noticed my my YW medallion and asked "What's this?" I said, "oh, this picture is a temple, this is where we do family sealings." And to help her understand it, we shared Matthew 16:19 and testified about the restoration. It was just a quick and short message but for me, it's so powerful! she agreed to meet with us again to teach her more. Our appointment with her is this Tuesday. Please include her in your prayers. (Keisha, about 30's)
3. KYLE got a desire (about 5%) to come to church. Rememebr Kyle? The 19-year old young man who is confused on what and who to believe in? Who doesn't believe in God? We had a great lesson with him last Thursday but still, he said that he didn't have a great feeling about our message yet. But he's super nice and willing to learn. He has been studying different religions and still not sure what to believe. He's reading the Book of Mormon as well. We invited him to come to church and testified that as he does it, he'll get specific answers to his questions. And he agreed! Yey! BUT, on /Saturday night, he texted us that he can't make it coz her sister who's attending in a school far away from where he lives visited him and they wanna go hiking. ANOTHER BUT, we were still happy because for the first time, he responded to our text!!! He's starting to have connections with us! He also said that, "I'll still meet you guys on Tuesday :)" We're still hopeful for him. Please continue praying for Kyle, okay? :)
4. WALKED AND DID'T FAINT. Last Thursday, we had an appointment with an investigator named Sister Ellen at church. Because Thursday is car fast, we weren't allowed to use the car. The member who supposedly working with us that day cancelled it so we needed to walk to go to the church. We started walking at 11:30 and got there 12:45! We were freezing so bad but I didn't get tired! We walked again back to our apartment but I felt so strong that I didn't feel any pain :)
5. NO CRAMPS/ABDOMEN PAIN ON MY PERIOD. Sorry this is an awkward thing but I love to tell you this because it's a miracle!!!! Before, I always have that cramps on my 1st and 2nd day of monthly period. Miracle, indeed :)
Remember, Obedience gives us blessings but EXACT OBEDIENCE brings MIRACLES :)
